Sandies Defeat Rebels – Advance to 5-1 in District 2-6A

The Amarillo High Sandies Varsity baseball team defeated the Tascosa Rebels 6-4 at Rebel Field on Friday evening.  The Sandies are now 5-1 in district play.  The Sandies were lead by 6 strong innings from Junior lefty Avery Beller.   Trevor Andrus relieved in the 7th striking out 2 to close out the game.  The Sandies offense was lead by Clay Koelzer with 3 RBIs on 2 hits.  2 of the RBIs came on a controversial triple that appeared to be a homerun but bounced back into the park.  The Sandies travel to Frenship for a big showdown on Tuesday April 12 at 7:00.  The Sandies are home again next Friday, April 15 at 5:00 against Frenship.
